Welcome to the North American Generator Forum

The North American Generator Forum (NAGF) was founded in 2009 as a vehicle for generator owners and/or operators to address issues related to registration, compliance, standards development and other NERC-related topics. In 2013, the North American Generator Forum, Inc. became a non-profit, dues-based corporation.

We provide entities who are generator owners and operators in North America a means to collaborate and communicate with FERC, NERC, the Regional Entities, the Canadian Provinces and other organizations with missions similar to ours, with the ultimate goal of improving the reliability of the bulk power system.

Said: : "All good advice on this thread. Here's my two cents: While a discrete list is not required, the following activities would augment the assurance that an entity has indeed identified all BCA devices (nothing hiding in a closet). These ac...

Said: : "We have identified our Low Impact BCS by consulting with the various work groups (power production, Transmission, SCADA/EMS, IT, Security) and visiting relevant sites. We then used network diagrams to identify where we need LEAP. In resp...
Said: : "We had discussions to identify which systems meet the criteria of a BES Cyber System and then did walk downs to identify the associated BES Cyber Assets. We did not conduct passive or active scans of the controls network because we didn't...
Said: : "This is a good discussion. We are also doing walkdowns and document all Programmable Electronic Devices, then log on the spreadsheet whether they are BES or non-BES and a justification as to why. John's approach seems like a great one -...
Said: : "Hi Amy; We have walked each of our hydro plants, all Low CIP, with a team made up of a Project Manager, SMEs from our generation group, SMEs from our control network group, our Compliance department SME, and plant operations. We are usin...
